Martin HS Competitive Archery

Martin High School

Competitive Archery

Martin HS Competitive Archery
This year's Martin's Competitive Archery team won every tournament that they participated in before state. Prior to shooting at state, the archers broke the state's team score record. On March 27th, the archers broke their own record again. At state they offer 1st - 5th place male and female scholarships. Martin archers took 6 out of the 10 scholarships. Female archers took 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 5th place scholarships. Male archers took 3rd and 4th. All together, they came away with $18,500 at state.
From the very beginning of this year, I knew that the archers were a special group. On April 27th, we traveled to Sandy, Utah to shoot in the Western National tournament. The archery team took first place and Martin's females came in first through third place. Trini Trang came in 1st, Amariah Smith and Jennifer Vera tied for 2nd and will need to take part in a shoot off to determine 2nd and 3rd place. Ryder Hey, came in 1st for the males. Martin's archers are the first Texas team to win the Western National tournament.
