I worked in pharmacy for 8 years before I decided it was time for a change. Teaching is a great way for me to extend my knowledge to students, and also have more time to be able to spend with my family.

After working as a Chiropractor for 17 years in clinical settings, I decided it was time to share my experience with the next generation of health care workers.

I obtained my vocational nursing license while completing my service in the United States Army (1988-1993) with 25 years of occupational experience in geriatrics. Though a first year instructor within ¼«ËÙÁùºÏ²Ê, teaching was a requirement in my duties as a charge nurse overseeing and instructing certified nursing assistants.Ìý Instruction with application is also a requirement for the Pastorate field in which I am also a licensed, ordained Minister (16+ years). Years of teaching (nursing/ministry) and my affinity for imparting knowledge inspired me to seek a career change to 'pay it forward' to students who are (now) where I once was.
By pouring into Arlington's student population the knowledge, passion and caring disposition required for success in the medical field, I am humbled to be able to mentor and play a positive role in impacting the future of the health care industry as well as the communities in which they will choose to serve.

In high school, I knew I wanted to be an Athletic Trainer because I was always hurt, and I spent so much time in the Athletic Training Room. As I went to college for Sports Medicine, I knew I had found my 'calling'. In 2010, I got hired as an Assistant Athletic Trainer and a teacher and spent 5 wonderful years on the sidelines. As difficult as it was, I made the decision to leave my passion to teach Health Science Education full time and I can proudly say I found another home in education. Fast forward 13 years, I'm now a mom of 2, Sloane (8) and Logan (5), have my Masters in Educational Administration, and looking to the future in my educational career.

I have been involved in the field of sports medicine since I was a sophomore in high school.Ìý After graduating from Harding University I became a licensed and certified athletic trainer.Ìý I spent two years working at an orthopedic clinic in Abilene, TX under a doctor of osteopathy.Ìý I also worked with a high school football team as their contract athletic trainer.Ìý From there I went on to work at North Forney High School as the assistant athletic trainer and sports medicine teacher.Ìý I have spent the last year teaching health science at Martin High School.Ìý I absolutely love teaching and I am so excited to share my passion for sports medicine!

I earned my B.S in Economics at UTA and have worked in a variety of fields. I
started working in education four years ago as an AVID tutor and substitute teacher. I
am currently working toward an alternative certification (Social Studies composite and
Science composite) and jumped at the chance to work at this campus.
